Kenya's chances of reclaiming women's trophy brightened after all its three teams qualified for quarters of African Volleyball Clubs Championship in Mauritius.
Kenya champions Prisons, Pipeline and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) proved their superiority in volleyball after they reached the quarters without dropping a match at the group stage. Pipeline won their third match beating Vita Club of RD Congo in three straight sets of 25-20, 25-15, 25-15 to top Pool 'B'.
Pipeline face Patriotic Army of Rwanda (APR) in the quarters today. Prisons, which is captained by Bracksides Agala, passed easily through the group stage with three wins in a row and without conceding a single set.
The Kenyan wardresses defeated Arsu of Seychelles 3-0 (17 -25, 16 -25, 19-25) in their final preliminary match to set a quarters date with Black Rangers of Mauritius.
KCB side easily defeated Ndjili of DR Congo 3-1 (21-25, 25-10, 25-23, 25-17). KCB play Bejaia of Algeria in a quarters duel touted to be tough. Bejaia will enter the encounter the bitter 2-3 loss against Pipeline in a group match still fresh in their memories.
